Since 1743
Kuaijishan takes its name from the Kuaiji Mountains near Shaoxing, whose springs feed Jianhu Lake. The company traces its history to 1743 and the Yunji winery: in 1915, Shaoxing wine from Yunji won a gold medal at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, the first international gold for Shaoxing wine.
Guardian of a craft
Today Kuaijishan Shaoxing Rice Wine is a listed company and one of the leaders of the huangjiu industry. It is a production and inheritance base for the 'Shaoxing rice wine brewing technique', listed as national intangible cultural heritage, and it has helped draft China's national standards for rice wine and Shaoxing wine.
Brands
Alongside Kuaijishan, the company produces brands such as Lanting, named after the Orchid Pavilion, Xitang and Wuzhanmao.
