Who we are
Wine Silk Road (winesilkroad.com) is run by Filippo Pagnini, Pistoia, Italy. Contact: info@winesilkroad.com. He is the data controller for the personal data described below.
What we collect and why
Newsletter. If you sign up, we collect your email address and the page where you signed up. We use it only to send you the newsletter and the free Cheat Sheet. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You confirm your subscription by email (double opt-in) and can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.
Emails you send us. If you write to us, we use your email and message only to reply.
Analytics. We use Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. It measures visits in aggregate, so we can see which pages are read. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the site.
Who processes your data for us
Newsletter: beehiiv, Inc. (United States), which stores and sends our newsletter. Any transfer of data outside the European Union is covered by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, as set out in beehiiv's data processing agreement.
Website hosting and database: Lovable (website hosting, served through Cloudflare's global network) and Lovable Cloud (database), hosted on Amazon Web Services in Ireland (EU).
Analytics: Plausible Insights OÜ (European Union).
We never sell your data and never share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Your email stays on our list until you unsubscribe; then it is deleted or anonymised. Messages you send us are kept as long as needed to reply, and for a maximum of 24 months.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The site stores a few small items in your browser (local storage) only to make it work for you: your answer to the age check, whether you have already seen the newsletter popup, your progress in the Start here path and your quiz answers. They never leave your device. Videos from Instagram, TikTok or YouTube are loaded only if you click on them; those platforms may then set their own cookies under their own policies.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to info@winesilkroad.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it).
Age
This site is intended for people of legal drinking age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
