Cognac meets baijiu
Guqi is the single malt whisky distillery of Camus Holdings, the French owners of Camus Cognac, in Bozhou, Anhui. To build it, Camus partnered with Gujinggong, one of China's largest baijiu producers, whose home is also Bozhou.
Three traditions
Camus describes the project as a meeting of three traditions: Chinese knowledge of fermentation, Scottish distillation techniques, and the ageing and blending methods of Cognac. The distillery is also designed to welcome whisky lovers with a visitor experience.
