Whisky from Hunan
Goalong is a whisky distillery based in Changsha, the capital of Hunan. It makes its spirit in large pot stills, modelling its whiskies on the great single malt houses of Scotland.
First abroad
Goalong was one of the first Chinese whiskies to reach Western shelves. A five-year-old single malt was the first Chinese whisky sold in the United States, and in 2023 The Whisky Exchange became the first UK retailer to stock Chinese whisky, with a trio of Goalong malts. Its buyer praised the whisky for its soft, easy simplicity.
