YunTuo is the single malt whisky distillery of Diageo, the British group behind Johnnie Walker, in Eryuan County, Yunnan. Diageo broke ground in November 2021, shortly after Pernod Ricard opened The Chuan, and the distillery started operating in late 2024.

Its name combines 云 (yún), 'clouds', and 拓 (tuò), 'to explore'. At about 2,100 metres above sea level, it is one of the highest whisky distilleries in the world, equipped with four large pot stills imported from Scotland. Its goal is to make a whisky that speaks to Chinese drinkers while putting Yunnan on the global whisky map.

Style and philosophy

Single malt whisky shaped by high altitude, made with Scotch whisky expertise.
